Although there are a range of social services available to assist families to thrive in Aotearoa NZ we understand
that accessing the support these agencies provide can sometimes be difficult.  A lot of us don't have the time, or money for phone credit or petrol etc, required to get in touch with these agencies in the first place let alone follow through with finding additional information they often need and/or completing paperwork.....

We've tried to help by providing links to some of the family support services we know of below and recommend
​you check out their websites for ways to access their services online if you can.     


​Work and Income​

Work and Income is a government agency that provides financial assistance to all New Zealanders, including help with childcare and accommodation costs.  To see if your family qualify's for any Work and Income subsidies visit https://www.workandincome.govt.nz/

​Families Commission

The families commission has a fantastic parenting website with information, advice and links to resources on important issues faced by New Zealand parents and whānau.  ​www.familiescommission.org.nz/parenting

KidsHealth

The aim of this website is to provide New Zealand parents, caregivers, family and whānau with accurate and reliable information about their children's health. https://www.kidshealth.org.nz

SKIP

SKIP is a government-funded initiative that supports parents and whānau to manage children in a positive way, as part of a loving, nurturing relationship.  For information and resources visit www.skip.org.nz

Playcentre

Playcentre provides early childhood education for children as well as support and educational opportunities for parents.   Playcentres are run co-operatively by whānau/parents, the half day learning sessions emphasise child initiated play and the importance of whānau/families as first and most important educators of their children.
