We believe that changing the way our babies are considered and supported at a government level would inspire the social changes we desperately need to improve the standard of care provided to our tamariki and reduce our disgraceful child abuse rates.
The most important thing we can do to achieve this is to redefine Early Childhood Education (ECE) as pertaining to tamariki aged 3 to 5 years (actually 3 to 7 years would be better but that's another conversation) with tamariki aged under 3yrs moved from the Governments education portfolio to their social development portfolio.
